Hi and thanks for stopping by the Northwest Gear Swapper forums! The goal of this site is to offer a safe and trustworthy place for musicians in the Pacific Northwest to connect, buy/sell/trade gear, provide services and assistance, and promote a strong sense of community in our local music scene.

A few rules to keep in mind, just to ensure this site is as true to the original vision as possible:

1) FIRST AND FOREMOST: Negativity has no place here. There will be zero tolerance for personal attacks, insults, hate speech, bullying, or trolling.

2)New members must first affirm that they agree to forum rules in this thread, then post an introduction post - including their name, location, and how you heard about this site - prior to posting any new threads or replying in threads posted by others. This is to help keep this site safe and add a little transparency to the community, it also helps to weed out spam and fake posters. After you've made your introduction post, you will be able to post and reply throughout the site.

3) Please keep all comments and replies in others' threads constructive, civil, respectful, and on topic. If you disagree with something someone has said, think their price is too high, or you just don't like them or the gear they're selling, keep it to yourself and scroll on by - you are not required to add your $0.02 to every thread. Any non-constructive comments will be deleted.

4) Any deals/transactions that are facilitated through this site are solely the business of the parties involved. The admin and moderators bear no liability or responsibility for the actions of any other member(s) of this forum.

5) Sellers may set any price or discount criteria they see fit - if you're offended by their criteria, move on and buy from someone/somewhere else.

6) For sale and for trade listings are reserved for private party transactions. Stores, dealers, etc. are not permitted to offer goods through the Buy/Sell/Trade sections of this site. 

7) If posting an item or service as available, please be thorough and include the area you are located, if you are willing to travel to meet up, and your approximate price/rate. When the item has sold, please make it clear in the original post and/or in the body of the thread. This saves having endless posts of "where is this located?", "how much?", and "is this still available?" that only clog up the forums. Feel free to advertise "OBO" along with a clearly stated price.

8) If offering an item or service for sale, you may also be open to trades, please don't post the same item in the "For Sale" and "For Trade" areas. Simply state the you are also open to trades in a "For Sale" post.

9) This forum is not intended for "flippers", anyone that is found to repeatedly buy and sell the same gear in this group for profit (buy something at a low price, just to list it for sale at a higher price) will be banned. If you notice this, please report the offending member to moderators. This is behavior unscrupulous toward both the original seller and other members, some of which might've otherwise been able to get the same deal you did.

10) Once your item has sold or been traded, please update the original post and add a reply to reflect such. This will help to avoid "necro" threads from being brought back to life after the items are no longer available.
